 Fred with one of our last remaining World War II veterans, 100-year-old MWO George MacLean. Fred was a 48th Army Cadet, but his American dad moved the family to the USA where Fred joined the USMC in 1960 serving in Vietnam.

 The 48th Highlanders of Canada Memorial at Queen's Park after the dedication of the Afghanistan battle honour. We had lots of discussion about the sunburst but in the end, we decided it shows warmth and hope as winter approaches.

 95 year old WWII veteran Herb Pike with Colonel Beal. Herb helped liberate Holland and is a favourite Canadian of the Dutch Royal Family. Colonel Beal's book on the 48TH is the greatest history of the Regiment.
